What is Thuja (30C)? Thuja (30C) is a homeopathic remedy prepared from Thuja occidentalis, the Northern white cedar native to eastern North America. In homeopathy, '30C' indicates the remedy has been serially diluted 30 times at a ratio of 1:100, a process called potentization. At this dilution level, no measurable molecules of the original plant remain — the remedy works, according to homeopathic theory, through the energetic imprint left in the water-ethanol vehicle. How does Thuja (30C) work? Homeopathic theory holds that extreme dilution combined with vigorous shaking (succussion) at each step 'potentizes' the remedy, imprinting the healing properties of the original substance into the solvent. Thuja 30C is prescribed according to the homeopathic principle 'like cures like' — because crude Thuja can cause skin eruptions, it is used in diluted form to stimulate the body's own healing response for similar skin and immune-related conditions. From a conventional science perspective, the mechanism remains unproven, and any benefit may reflect individualized care, placebo response, or self-limiting natural resolution of conditions like warts. What forms does Thuja (30C) come in? Most commonly dispensed as small lactose-based pellets dissolved under the tongue. Liquid drops in a water-alcohol base are also available. Tablets and granules are used interchangeably in practice. Single-remedy vials are widely available from established homeopathic pharmacies such as Boiron and Helios. Where it comes from: Thuja was introduced into homeopathic practice by Samuel Hahnemann himself in the early 19th century and featured in his foundational text Materia Medica Pura (1821). It became one of the most prescribed homeopathic remedies globally, particularly for skin conditions. Indigenous North American peoples had long used the whole Thuja plant for infections, respiratory conditions, and skin ailments — a use that informed Hahnemann's choice of the plant for proving.

Helps

What does Thuja (30C) help with? Warts (common and genital): Thuja 30C is the single most prescribed homeopathic remedy for warts of all types, particularly cauliflower-like or moist warts. Homeopathic practitioners select it based on the appearance and location of the growths, with individual case-taking guiding prescribing. Skin tags and benign skin growths: Homeopaths use Thuja 30C for soft, pedunculated skin growths beyond just warts, including skin tags and small benign polyps. It is often used alongside topical Thuja mother tincture for these presentations. Recurring respiratory infections: In homeopathic constitutional prescribing, Thuja is associated with a pattern of recurrent colds, sinusitis, and upper respiratory infections, particularly in people who seem prone to mucous conditions. It is used to support the body's overall resistance. Urinary tract symptoms: Thuja is traditionally indicated in homeopathy for urinary symptoms including frequency, urgency, and discomfort — especially when these occur alongside skin or mucous membrane involvement. It is not a replacement for conventional UTI treatment. Nail fungus and brittle nails: Homeopaths prescribe Thuja for distorted, discolored, or brittle nails, particularly when nail changes accompany other skin concerns. It may be used alongside topical antifungal approaches. Eczema and skin rashes: Thuja is used constitutionally for skin that is oily, prone to eruptions, or shows rashes that worsen with damp conditions. It is typically chosen when the skin picture fits a broader pattern the homeopath identifies as the 'Thuja state.' Post-vaccination reactions (homeopathic use): A traditional homeopathic application of Thuja is supporting recovery after vaccinations, based on historical practice dating to the 19th century. This use is homeopathic tradition, not evidence-based medicine, and should not replace standard medical advice on vaccines. Chronic sinusitis: Homeopaths use Thuja for chronic nasal congestion with thick, greenish or brownish discharge, particularly when polyps or thickened mucous membranes are present. It is part of a broader constitutional approach rather than acute symptom relief. Oily or problematic skin: Thuja is associated in homeopathy with oily, unhealthy-looking skin that is prone to eruptions, warts, or excessive sweating. It may be selected as part of a long-term constitutional treatment plan for acne-prone or sebaceous skin types.

This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!
