This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Long Dan Xie Gan Tang is one of the most well-known classical formulas in Traditional Chinese Medicine, first recorded in the Li Dongyuan's 'Lan Shi Mi Cang' (Secrets from the Orchid Chamber) during the Jin-Yuan dynasty period and later popularized in the Qing dynasty. It is a multi-herb decoction designed to drain excess fire and damp-heat from the liver and gallbladder organ systems, as understood in TCM. The formula typically contains 10–11 herbs that work together to reduce inflammation, support urinary drainage, and calm what TCM practitioners describe as 'liver fire rising.'
From a modern pharmacological view, the formula's key herbs work through several overlapping pathways: Gentiana scabra contains iridoid glycosides (gentiopicrin, swertiamarin) with demonstrated anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activity; Scutellaria baicalensis provides baicalin, a potent flavonoid that inhibits inflammatory cytokines; and Rehmannia and Alisma together support diuretic activity and renal clearance. Together, these herbs help reduce local inflammation in urinary and hepatic tissues, support immune response, and promote fluid excretion that helps flush pathogens from the urinary tract. The formula is not a single-compound treatment — its power lies in the synergy of its constituent herbs acting on overlapping targets.
The traditional form is a water-boiled decoction consumed as a tea, which offers the most complete extraction of water-soluble actives. Modern patent pills (Wan) are the most convenient and widely used form globally. Concentrated granules dissolve in hot water and closely replicate the decoction. Capsule and liquid extract forms are also available; quality varies significantly by brand. Always choose products from manufacturers who explicitly verify the absence of aristolochic acid-containing herbs (i.e., confirm safe Mu Tong substitution with Clematis armandii or removal from formula).
