This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Heavy metals like lead, mercury, arsenic, and cadmium accumulate in the body through food, water, air, dental fillings, and occupational exposure. Unlike acute poisoning — which is a medical emergency treated with pharmaceutical chelation — most people carry a low-grade burden that builds quietly over years and can contribute to fatigue, cognitive fog, hormone disruption, and immune problems. A natural heavy metal detox protocol uses a stack of well-researched natural compounds that work together to bind metals in the gut and tissues, boost the body's own detox enzymes, and safely escort toxins out through urine and stool.
The protocol works on several levels at once. Binding agents like chlorella, modified citrus pectin, and spirulina grab metals in the digestive tract and prevent re-absorption. Sulfur-rich compounds in NAC, ALA, and garlic boost glutathione — the body's master antioxidant and one of its most powerful metal-binding molecules. Cilantro is traditionally used to mobilize metals from tissues into circulation, where binders can then capture them. Liver support from milk thistle and selenium keeps detox pathways functioning efficiently so metals that are mobilized actually leave the body rather than redistribute.
Most people follow this protocol as a combination stack rather than a single product. Chlorella and spirulina come in powder or tablet form and are easiest to take in smoothies. NAC, ALA, and modified citrus pectin are available as capsules or powder. Many companies now offer combination detox formulas that bundle several of these agents. Liquid tinctures of cilantro extract are available but concentration varies widely — standardized extracts are preferred.
Humans have long used food and plants to support detoxification — clay and charcoal eating (geophagy) for binding toxins appears across Indigenous cultures worldwide. Ayurvedic medicine used sulfur-rich herbs and mineral preparations to address what practitioners described as toxic accumulation. Traditional Chinese medicine employed similar strategies with binding clays and herbal formulas. The modern scientific understanding of chelation began in the 1940s with pharmaceutical EDTA for wartime lead poisoning, and natural chelation research expanded significantly from the 1990s onward as environmental metal exposure became a recognized public health concern.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
