This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Methylation is a chemical process your body performs billions of times every second — it's involved in making neurotransmitters, regulating genes, building cell membranes, detoxifying hormones, and converting homocysteine into safe byproducts. A methylation support stack provides the specific activated, bioavailable forms of nutrients that directly fuel this cycle. Unlike standard B-vitamin complexes, these formulas use already-converted forms (like methylfolate instead of folic acid) that don't require additional enzymatic steps to be useful.
Think of methylation as a relay race where each nutrient is a baton pass. Methylfolate donates methyl groups to convert homocysteine to methionine; methionine then becomes SAMe, your body's universal methyl donor for hundreds of reactions. Methylcobalamin helps recycle homocysteine through a parallel pathway, B6 clears excess homocysteine via the transsulfuration route, and TMG acts as a backup methyl donor when the main cycle slows down. Riboflavin (B2) is the often-forgotten cofactor that keeps the key MTHFR enzyme itself functional — particularly important in people with certain gene variants.
Capsules and tablets are most common and easiest to dose precisely. Sublinguals and lozenges (especially for methylcobalamin) can improve absorption by bypassing first-pass digestion. Liquid drops allow flexible micro-dosing, which is helpful for sensitive individuals who need to start very low. Powder blends can be stirred into water but may taste bitter. Most practitioners recommend starting at half-dose and titrating up.
Interest in methylation as a therapeutic target grew significantly in the 1990s and 2000s, driven by research linking elevated homocysteine to cardiovascular disease risk and the discovery that MTHFR gene polymorphisms (especially C677T) are common worldwide — affecting an estimated 10–15% of people homozygously. The development of functional medicine as a discipline helped popularize methylation-support protocols, and by the 2010s, methylated B-vitamin formulas had become mainstream in integrative and naturopathic clinical practice.
