This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Environmental toxin reduction is the practice of lowering your daily intake of — and actively helping your body clear — harmful chemicals like heavy metals (lead, mercury, arsenic), pesticide residues, plasticizers (BPA, phthalates), flame retardants, and air pollutants. Modern humans carry measurable levels of hundreds of synthetic chemicals in their blood, fat, and organs — a phenomenon researchers call 'body burden.' The good news is that your body has its own built-in detox systems, and targeted food, lifestyle, and supplement choices can meaningfully support and enhance those systems.
Your liver, kidneys, gut, lungs, and skin are your primary detox organs. The liver processes toxins through two enzymatic phases — first converting fat-soluble chemicals into intermediate compounds, then conjugating those compounds so they can be safely excreted in bile or urine. Many environmental toxins interfere with this process or overwhelm it. Specific nutrients — like sulfur compounds, antioxidants, and binding agents — help the liver work faster, protect cells from toxin-related damage, and trap toxins in the gut so they are eliminated rather than reabsorbed.
Environmental toxin reduction is not a single supplement — it is a layered protocol. The foundation is always behavioral: filtering drinking water, choosing organic produce for the 'Dirty Dozen' crops, avoiding plastic food containers, improving indoor air quality, and swapping out toxic household products. On top of that foundation, targeted supplements (glutathione, NAC, chlorella, MCP) can accelerate clearance. Infrared or traditional sauna therapy is an evidence-supported adjunct that promotes toxin excretion through sweat. High dietary fiber intake is consistently associated with lower body burden of persistent organic pollutants.
Traditional healing systems worldwide have long used fasting, herbs, clay, and sweat lodges to 'cleanse' the body — practices now understood to align with real mechanisms of toxin clearance. Ayurvedic medicine used triphala and specific herbs to support liver and gut function. Indigenous North American traditions used sweat lodge ceremonies. Traditional Chinese medicine employed bitter herbs to stimulate liver pathways. Modern clinical research, especially since the 1980s, has validated many of these approaches and added precision tools like chelation therapy for acute heavy metal poisoning and specific nutraceuticals for supporting everyday detox pathways.
