What is Chlorophyll (liquid)? Liquid chlorophyll is a water-soluble supplement derived from green plants — most commonly alfalfa or mulberry — where the central magnesium atom is often replaced with copper to create a more stable, bioavailable form called sodium copper chlorophyllin. It captures the core pigment responsible for photosynthesis and delivers it in a form your body can actually absorb. People use it as a daily wellness tonic for everything from freshening breath to supporting clearer skin. How does Chlorophyll (liquid) work? Chlorophyllin works partly by binding to and neutralizing certain odor-causing compounds and potential toxins in the digestive tract before they can be absorbed or excreted through the skin. It also has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that may help calm irritated skin and support the liver's natural detox processes. Some research suggests it can help interrupt the formation of harmful compounds in the gut that contribute to body odor and cellular stress. What forms does Chlorophyll (liquid) come in? Liquid drops are the most popular form and are often mixed into water or juice. Capsules and softgels offer a more convenient, taste-neutral option. Liquid forms tend to be more rapidly absorbed; capsules are more portable and consistent in dosing. Powder versions are sometimes added to smoothies. Where it comes from: Green plant extracts have been used in traditional medicine across many cultures for wound healing and digestive support. In the 1940s and 1950s, American researchers began studying chlorophyllin as a wound deodorizer and internal odor remedy. It was used clinically in hospitals for patients with colostomies and chronic wounds. Its modern popularity as a wellness supplement surged significantly in the early 2020s following social media interest in its skin and detox benefits.

Helps

What does Chlorophyll (liquid) help with? Body odor and bad breath: Chlorophyllin binds to odor-producing compounds in the gut and prevents them from being released through the skin and breath. Clinical use dating back decades — including in hospital settings — showed meaningful reductions in body and fecal odor. This is one of its most well-supported uses. Acne and oily skin: Applied topically or taken internally, chlorophyllin has shown real promise for reducing acne, inflammation, and pore size in human trials. Its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant action helps calm the skin environment that allows acne to thrive. Gut health and bloating: Chlorophyllin may help support a healthier gut environment by binding to toxins and reducing fermentation byproducts that cause bloating and discomfort. Some users report improved regularity and reduced digestive heaviness with daily use. Wound healing (topical support): Chlorophyllin-based ointments have been used in clinical wound care for decades, with studies showing faster healing, reduced infection risk, and less odor in chronic wounds and surgical sites. This is one of its longest-documented medical applications. Liver detox support: Chlorophyllin appears to support the liver's natural detox pathways by intercepting certain harmful compounds — including aflatoxins from moldy food — before they can cause cellular damage. Research in high-risk populations has shown it can significantly reduce aflatoxin load in the body. Trimethylaminuria (fishy odor disorder): Trimethylaminuria is a metabolic condition where the body cannot properly break down a compound that causes a strong fishy odor. Small studies have shown chlorophyllin can meaningfully reduce trimethylamine levels, making it one of the few natural options for this condition. Anemia and low red blood cell support: Because chlorophyll's molecular structure closely resembles hemoglobin, some practitioners use it to support blood building — particularly for mild iron-deficiency anemia. The evidence here is mostly preliminary, but the structural similarity and traditional use make it a logical supportive tool alongside dietary iron. Skin aging and sun damage: Topical chlorophyllin formulations have shown early evidence of reducing fine lines and improving photoaged skin by supporting collagen-related processes. It also has antioxidant activity that may help protect skin cells from UV-related stress. Constipation and digestive sluggishness: Liquid chlorophyll is sometimes used to gently stimulate digestive movement and support regularity, likely through its effects on the gut environment. Traditionally, chlorophyll-rich greens have always been associated with digestive ease.

This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!
