Track Arsenicum iodatum with reminders and record whether it helped, in the app.
Arsenicum iodatum is a homeopathic remedy. It starts out as arsenic iodide, a mix of arsenic and iodine. Both are poisons in raw form.
The raw mix is watered down again and again, with shaking at each step. This is called serial dilution. At the common 30C strength, no source matter is left in the pill at all.
Homeopaths give it for long-lasting runny noses, hay fever, coughs and dry skin. Trials do not show it works better than a dummy pill. Long use in homeopathy is not proof that a remedy works.
This page sets out what tradition says, what the evidence says, and where the real risks lie. The risks sit with low-strength products, which can still hold arsenic and iodine.
There is no known way for this remedy to act on the body. At 30C the pill holds no arsenic and no iodine. In chemical terms it is sugar.
Homeopathy rests on an old idea called "like cures like". A substance that causes signs in a well person is said to ease those same signs in a sick one, once watered down. Science has not found support for this idea.
Water is not known to hold a "memory" of what was once in it. Good feelings that people report are best explained by placebo (a dummy pill effect) and by time. That is an honest read of what we have.
You will most often see small white sugar pills that melt under the tongue. Drops in an alcohol and water base are also sold, as are plain tablets.
Strengths are marked with a number and a letter, such as 6C, 30C or 200C. X strengths like 3X and 6X are watered down less, so they can hold traces of the raw stuff. A higher number means more watering down, not more power.
Some products mix several homeopathic ingredients in one pill. Read the label so you know what you are buying.
Arsenicum iodatum came into homeopathic use in the mid-1800s. Homeopaths took it themselves and wrote down every feeling they had. Those notes became its traditional picture.
It won a place in American and Indian homeopathy for thick, sticky catarrh (mucus in the nose and chest). It was also linked to thin, restless people who eat well but stay thin.
It is a staple of homeopathy alone. It has no separate record in herbal medicine or in folk use.
See a doctor if your cough, cold or rash is getting worse instead of better, or if a cough lasts more than three weeks.
Get help fast if you have trouble breathing, chest pain, a high fever, or you cough up blood.
Call a doctor if you feel sick, vomit, have watery stools, or get pins and needles in your hands or feet after taking a low-strength product. These can be signs of arsenic in the body.
Also get checked for weight loss you did not plan, night sweats, or a lump or swelling in your neck that lasts more than two weeks.

This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!
