What is Spleen Extract? Spleen extract is derived from the spleens of cattle or pigs and concentrated into supplement form. The spleen is one of the body's primary immune organs, producing white blood cells and filtering pathogens from the blood. When taken as a supplement, spleen extract delivers a range of bioactive peptides and immune-active compounds that your own immune system can put to work. How does Spleen Extract work? The key peptides in spleen extract — particularly tuftsin and splenopentin — appear to activate macrophages and natural killer cells, which are the immune system's front-line defenders. Tuftsin, in particular, signals macrophages to become more aggressive at identifying and destroying bacteria and abnormal cells. Splenopentin has been shown to modulate the balance between different branches of the immune system, helping it respond more efficiently without tipping into overdrive. What forms does Spleen Extract come in? Most people take spleen extract in capsule or tablet form as a daily supplement. Clinical researchers have also used injectable spleen hydrolysates (such as Splenopid and Polyerga), which were studied extensively in European hospitals during the 1980s and 1990s. Oral forms are widely available as glandular supplements; injectable forms are not commercially available outside clinical trials. Where it comes from: Glandular therapy — using animal organ extracts as medicine — has roots stretching back thousands of years across Chinese, Egyptian, and Greek traditions. Spleen extracts were used in early 20th-century European medicine for immune support and anemia. Soviet and Eastern European researchers extensively studied injectable spleen peptides in oncology and infectious disease settings from the 1960s through the 1990s, producing the bulk of the formal clinical literature on this supplement.

Helps

What does Spleen Extract help with? Frequent colds and infections: Spleen extract's tuftsin content activates macrophages — the immune cells that patrol your body and engulf bacteria and viruses. Regular use may help people who catch every bug going around build a more resilient first-line immune response. Immune deficiency and low immunity: For people with generally sluggish immune systems, spleen peptides act like a gentle wake-up call. They help regulate both the 'attack' side and the 'communication' side of immune function, nudging the whole system toward better balance and readiness. Post-illness recovery and fatigue: After a serious illness, the immune system can be depleted and slow to rebound. Spleen extract provides ready-made immune peptides that may help replenish this pool and speed up the recovery process, particularly for those who feel run-down for weeks after getting sick. Iron-deficiency anemia: The spleen plays a direct role in red blood cell recycling and iron metabolism. Spleen glandular extracts contain heme iron and supportive enzymes that may improve iron absorption and help raise hemoglobin levels, making them a useful adjunct for people struggling with low iron. Chemotherapy-related immune suppression: Some European clinical work has explored injectable spleen hydrolysates as a supportive treatment alongside chemotherapy, with the aim of protecting immune cell counts. This is one of the more studied applications, though most research used injectable rather than oral forms. Chronic fatigue: Chronic immune activation can drain energy over time. By helping the immune system work more efficiently rather than constantly struggling, spleen extract may reduce the background immune burden that contributes to persistent tiredness. Low white blood cell count (leukopenia): Spleen peptides have been studied for their ability to support the production and activity of white blood cells. In people whose counts drop due to illness or medical treatment, spleen extract may offer gentle support for rebuilding immune cell populations. Rheumatoid arthritis (immune modulation): Splenopentin's ability to modulate T-cell balance has attracted interest for autoimmune conditions. Early research suggests it may help shift the immune system away from the self-attacking pattern seen in rheumatoid arthritis, though this application needs more study. Respiratory infections: Several European clinical studies used spleen extract preparations in patients with recurrent respiratory infections, with results suggesting reduced frequency and severity of episodes compared to placebo groups. General immune maintenance: Even in otherwise healthy people, spleen extract is sometimes used during high-stress periods — like winter, travel, or heavy work cycles — as a broad immune tonic to keep defenses sharp.

This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!
