This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Triphala Ghrita is one of the most revered formulas in classical Ayurvedic medicine, documented in ancient texts like the Ashtanga Hridayam and Charaka Samhita. It combines the three-fruit blend Triphala with ghee through a traditional preparation process called sneha paka, where the active plant compounds are drawn into the fat medium over slow heat. The result is a nutrient-dense, fat-soluble delivery system for the antioxidant-rich Triphala herbs.
Ghee acts as a carrier — fat-soluble plant compounds absorb more readily when bound to clarified butter, and butyric acid in ghee also directly nourishes the gut lining and may support the blood-brain barrier. Triphala's tannins and polyphenols are potent antioxidants that help reduce oxidative stress in delicate tissues like the eyes and gut. Together, this combination is thought to gently cleanse, lubricate, and strengthen tissues, particularly the eyes and digestive tract.
The traditional form is a warm, amber-colored medicated ghee taken orally in small amounts, often with warm water or milk. In clinical Ayurvedic practice it is also used as netra tarpana (a pooled eye bath treatment administered by a practitioner) and occasionally as nasya (nasal drops). Home users primarily use the oral form. Quality matters significantly — authentic preparations use A2 cow ghee and properly processed Triphala, not just ghee stirred with Triphala powder.
Triphala Ghrita appears in multiple classical Ayurvedic texts dating back over 1,500 years, most notably in the Ashtanga Hridayam (Uttarasthana chapter) as a primary formula for eye disorders (netra roga). It is still actively prescribed by Ayurvedic physicians across India today and is manufactured by several licensed Ayurvedic pharmacies under government GMP standards.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
