This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Sang Ju Yin is one of the most foundational formulas in Traditional Chinese Medicine, first recorded in the Qing Dynasty classic 'Systematic Differentiation of Warm Diseases' (Wen Bing Tiao Bian) by Wu Jutong around 1798. It is an eight-herb combination built around mulberry leaf and chrysanthemum — two botanicals prized in Chinese medicine for their ability to cool the upper respiratory tract and soothe irritated lung tissue. The formula is considered a 'light and dispersing' treatment specifically designed to intercept mild respiratory infections before they deepen.
From a modern pharmacological perspective, several herbs in this formula carry real anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antioxidant compounds. Mulberry leaf contains rutin, quercetin, and chlorogenic acid that help calm airway inflammation. Forsythia and peppermint have demonstrated antiviral activity against common respiratory viruses. Platycodon root acts as a natural expectorant by stimulating airway secretions, making mucus easier to clear. Together these herbs work on multiple fronts — cooling inflammation, loosening congestion, soothing irritated throat tissue, and supporting the body's early immune response.
Traditional decoction prepared by simmering herbs in water for 10–15 minutes is considered most potent and closest to the classical preparation. Granule powders dissolved in hot water offer a convenient modern alternative with comparable efficacy. Patent pills and capsules are widely available and practical for travel or daily use. Liquid extracts are also commercially produced. Granules or decoction are generally preferred for acute illness; pills or capsules for milder maintenance use.
Sang Ju Yin was codified by Wu Jutong in his 1798 treatise 'Wen Bing Tiao Bian' (Systematic Differentiation of Warm Diseases), a foundational text of the Warm Disease school of TCM. The formula was designed as a gentler counterpart to the more powerful Yin Qiao San, intended for presentations where cough was the dominant symptom rather than fever and sore throat. It has been in continuous clinical use across China, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia for over two centuries and remains one of the most commonly prescribed formulas in TCM hospitals and clinics today.
