Kali cyanatum

What is Kali cyanatum? Kali cyanatum is a homeopathic remedy. It is made from potassium cyanide, a deadly poison. Before sale, the raw material is watered down and shaken again and again. Homeopaths have used it for sharp nerve pain in the face, for a headache at the back of the head, and for a feeling of dread. Those uses come from old case notes. They do not come from trials. Old use is not proof that a thing works. At 30C, no atom of the source is left in the pill. Trials do not show that it works better than a placebo (a dummy pill). How does Kali cyanatum work? Homeopathy rests on one idea. A tiny dose of a thing that causes symptoms is said to ease those same symptoms. Makers water the source down in steps, and shake it hard at each step. At 30C the source has been cut 1 part in 100, thirty times over. Almost surely not one atom of cyanide is left. So there is no known way the pill could act on the body. Homeopaths say the water keeps a trace of the source. Science has not shown this to be true. Relief that people feel is best put down to placebo and to time. What forms does Kali cyanatum come in? You will see sugar pills, small round pellets, drops, and liquids mixed with alcohol. Some sellers offer creams, but these are rare. Common labels are 6C, 12C, 30C and 200C. The number tells you how many times the source was cut 1 part in 100. A higher number means less source material, not more proven power. Where it comes from: Homeopathy began in Germany around 1796 with Samuel Hahnemann. Kali cyanatum was added later in the 1800s. Healthy volunteers took small doses and wrote down what they felt. It has never been a main remedy. A few old homeopathic books list it for face pain and headache. That is a thin record, so we rate it T1.

Helps

What does Kali cyanatum help with? Sharp nerve pain in the face (trigeminal neuralgia): This is the use named most often in old homeopathic books. The notes describe stabbing pain on one side of the face. No human trial has tested Kali cyanatum for it, so we cannot say it helps. Headache at the back of the head: Old texts pair this remedy with a heavy, pressing pain low at the back of the skull. The record is a handful of case notes. There is no trial support. Sores in the mouth and throat: Some homeopathic books list it for painful sores and a raw throat. This is tradition only. A sore that does not heal in two weeks needs a doctor, not a remedy. Hoarse voice and raw throat: A few sources name it for a lost or croaky voice. No trial has looked at this. A voice change that lasts more than three weeks should be checked by a doctor. A sudden sense of dread or panic: Provers wrote of fear and a feeling that something awful was about to happen. That is a symptom picture, not proof of benefit. Panic and anxiety respond well to proven care, so ask your doctor first.

Where it comes from:

Homeopathy began in Germany around 1796 with Samuel Hahnemann. Kali cyanatum was added later in the 1800s. Healthy volunteers took small doses and wrote down what they felt.

It has never been a main remedy. A few old homeopathic books list it for face pain and headache. That is a thin record, so we rate it T1.

If this is an emergency

Some reactions to Kali cyanatum need urgent care. Call your local emergency number or go to an emergency department straight away — do not wait to see whether it passes.

Who should avoid Kali cyanatum?

  • Never swallow, handle or buy raw potassium cyanide. It is a deadly poison, not a home remedy.
  • Do not use any product labelled below 12C, such as 3X, 6X or 6C, because it may still hold real cyanide.
  • Do not use it in place of a prescribed medicine, and do not lower your dose to make room for it.
  • Do not use it for fits (seizures), chest pain, trouble breathing or any sudden severe illness.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless your doctor agrees.
  • Do not give it to a baby or child unless a doctor has told you to.
  • Do not use lactose-based pills if you cannot digest lactose (milk sugar).
  • Do not use alcohol-based drops if you avoid alcohol, are in recovery from addiction, or take disulfiram or metronidazole (drugs that react badly with alcohol).
  • Do not buy from a seller who cannot tell you the exact strength on the label.

When should you see a doctor?

Call emergency services at once if you or someone else may have taken real cyanide. Warning signs are a sudden pounding headache, confusion, gasping for air, a racing heart, or collapse. Take the packet with you.

See a doctor the same day for a fit, chest pain, a stiff neck with fever, or a sore that bleeds.

Book a normal appointment if face pain, a headache, a hoarse voice or a mouth sore lasts more than two weeks, or keeps coming back.

Evidence grades and traditional-use labels are explained in our methodology. Nothing here is medical advice.

This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!
