This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Ignatia amara is a climbing shrub native to the Philippines and parts of Southeast Asia, whose seeds (the St. Ignatius bean) contain powerful alkaloids including strychnine and brucine. In homeopathic medicine, the seeds are processed through serial dilution to create a remedy that retains no measurable trace of the original plant toxins. It is one of the most widely used homeopathic remedies for acute emotional distress, particularly grief, heartbreak, and nervous tension.
Within the homeopathic framework, Ignatia is thought to work on the principle of 'like cures like' — the raw plant causes convulsions and nervous system excitability, so in extreme dilution it is believed to help calm an overexcited nervous system. From a conventional perspective, there is no pharmacological explanation for action at standard homeopathic potencies, as no active molecules remain. Any benefit observed in clinical settings is studied as a holistic or placebo-mediated response.
Ignatia is almost exclusively used in homeopathic form — most commonly as small pellets or tablets in potencies from 6C to 200C, dissolved under the tongue. Lower potencies (6C, 12C, 30C) are commonly available over the counter for self-treatment of acute grief or anxiety. Higher potencies (200C, 1M) are typically reserved for use under practitioner guidance.
The St. Ignatius bean was named after St. Ignatius of Loyola and brought to Europe by Jesuit missionaries from the Philippines in the 17th century. Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, introduced Ignatia amara as a key homeopathic remedy in the late 18th century after conducting homeopathic provings, and it has remained a cornerstone of classical homeopathic practice ever since — particularly for grief, acute emotional suffering, and nervous exhaustion.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
