This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

A CGM is a small biosensor patch — typically worn on the upper arm or abdomen — that reads glucose levels from the fluid just under your skin every 1-5 minutes, around the clock. Unlike a fingerstick test that gives you a single snapshot, a CGM paints the full picture: peaks, crashes, overnight patterns, and how your body responds to every meal and activity. Modern consumer devices like the Freestyle Libre and Dexcom G7 have made this technology accessible far beyond the diabetes clinic.
The sensor contains a tiny filament inserted just under the skin that detects glucose in interstitial fluid using an electrochemical reaction. That signal is converted into a glucose reading and sent wirelessly to your phone or reader device. The real power is behavioral: seeing your blood sugar spike after a specific food or drop during a workout creates an immediate feedback loop that most people find far more motivating than general dietary advice. Over time, patterns become visible that no single blood test could ever capture.
Consumer CGMs fall into two main types: real-time CGM (rtCGM), which streams readings continuously with alerts (e.g., Dexcom G7, Guardian Sensor 3), and intermittently scanned CGM (isCGM or 'flash'), which requires you to scan the sensor to get a reading (e.g., Freestyle Libre 2/3). Wear duration ranges from 10 to 15 days depending on brand. Some models require a brief fingerstick calibration; newer models are factory-calibrated. Implantable 180-day sensors (Eversense) also exist for longer-term monitoring.
CGM technology was first approved by the FDA in 1999 for clinical use in people with Type 1 diabetes. For two decades it remained largely a diabetes management tool. In the early 2020s, the rise of consumer wellness culture, metabolic health research, and direct-to-consumer programs (Levels, Nutrisense, January AI) brought CGM into mainstream use among people without diabetes — athletes, biohackers, and anyone curious about how their lifestyle affects their metabolism.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
