This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Cordyceps sinensis is a fascinating parasitic fungus that infects ghost moth caterpillar larvae at elevations above 3,500 meters in the Tibetan Plateau and Himalayas. The fungus mummifies the larva and sprouts a fruiting body from its head — a striking appearance that earned it the nickname 'winter worm, summer grass' in Chinese. Because wild Cordyceps is extraordinarily rare and expensive, most modern supplements use the cultivated mycelium strain CS-4 or the closely related species Cordyceps militaris, which share many of the same active compounds.
Cordyceps works primarily by boosting the body's production of ATP — the cellular energy currency — which helps muscles work harder and recover faster. Its key compound, cordycepin, mimics adenosine in the body and influences oxygen utilization, immune cell activity, and inflammation pathways. It also appears to support the kidneys and lungs by improving circulation and reducing oxidative stress in those tissues.
Standardized CS-4 extract capsules are the most clinically studied form and the most reliable for consistent dosing. Cordyceps militaris powder is widely available, more affordable, and generally higher in cordycepin than wild-harvested sinensis. Whole dried wild Cordyceps is prestigious but highly variable in potency and prohibitively expensive. Tinctures and teas are traditional but less concentrated.
Cordyceps has been used in Tibetan and Chinese medicine for over 1,500 years, originally reserved for emperors and the very wealthy due to its rarity. Tibetan herders noticed their animals grew stronger after grazing on it in alpine meadows. It entered mainstream global awareness after Chinese female distance runners broke multiple world records in 1993 and attributed their performance partly to Cordyceps supplementation — a moment that ignited worldwide scientific interest.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
