This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Yue Ju Wan, meaning 'Escape Restraint Pill,' is a foundational herbal formula from Traditional Chinese Medicine first recorded in the 15th-century text 'Dan Xi Xin Fa' by Zhu Danxi. It combines five herbs, each traditionally assigned to address one of the classic 'six stagnations' — qi, blood, phlegm, fire, dampness, and food — making it a broad-spectrum formula for patterns of stuck or congested energy. In traditional practice, it is most often applied to stress, low mood, anxiety, and the body-mind overlap where emotional tension manifests as physical symptoms.
The formula is thought to work by addressing multiple pathways at once: Cang Zhu is traditionally used to dry dampness and support digestive function; Chuan Xiong is used to move blood and qi while potentially supporting circulation; Xiang Fu is used to regulate qi flow and ease emotional tension; Zhi Zi (Gardenia) is used to clear heat and may have some influence on mood-related brain chemistry; and Shen Qu is used to support digestion and the processing of food stagnation. Preliminary laboratory and animal research has focused on Gardenia's active compound genipin and Cyperus's essential oils, which may influence dopamine and serotonin signaling, though robust clinical trials in humans confirming these effects are currently lacking.
Traditional honey pills (wan) are the classic form and remain widely available, typically taken as 6–9 grams of pill mass per dose. Concentrated granules dissolve in warm water and allow easier dose adjustment. Capsules offer convenience for those unfamiliar with traditional preparations. For acute or more serious presentations, some practitioners prepare a fresh decoction for stronger effect.
Created by the influential physician Zhu Danxi (1281–1358 CE) during the Yuan Dynasty, Yue Ju Wan reflects his clinical observation that most disease in his era arose from 'stagnation' — a concept rooted in the idea that life requires free flow. The formula has remained in continuous clinical use for over 600 years and is part of the standard TCM pharmacopoeia to this day. Its modern scientific investigation, especially around potential rapid effects on mood, has brought renewed global attention.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
