This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

A dual-extracted mushroom tincture uses two consecutive extraction methods — hot water and alcohol — to pull out both the water-soluble compounds (like immune-supporting beta-glucans) and the alcohol-soluble compounds (like triterpenes and sterols) from medicinal mushrooms. The result is a far more complete extract than either method alone can produce. Common mushrooms used include Reishi, Lion's Mane, Chaga, Turkey Tail, Cordyceps, and Shiitake, either as singles or multi-mushroom blends.
Beta-glucans from the hot-water extraction bind to receptors on immune cells, essentially training and activating your body's natural defenses. The alcohol extraction brings out fat-soluble compounds like triterpenes, which have anti-inflammatory, adaptogenic, and liver-supportive properties. Together, these two fractions work across multiple body systems — immune, nervous, hormonal, and cardiovascular — in ways that a single-method extract cannot match.
Liquid tinctures are the most bioavailable form and allow flexible dosing. The dropper format means you can take it sublingually (under the tongue) for faster absorption or add it to water, tea, or coffee. Dual-extract powders in capsules offer convenience but slightly slower absorption. Look for products that clearly state the extraction ratio (e.g. 8:1 or 10:1) and confirm that both water and alcohol extraction were used.
Medicinal mushrooms have been central to Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 2,000 years — Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) was called the 'mushroom of immortality' and reserved for emperors. Japanese Kampo medicine adopted Reishi and Shiitake extensively. Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) was used in Chinese medicine as a lung and immune tonic. The modern dual-extraction technique was refined in the 20th century by herbalists and mycologists like Paul Stamets to maximize the yield of both compound classes and bring these ancient remedies into a clinically relevant, standardized format.
