This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Sitopaladi Churna is one of the most widely used classical Ayurvedic formulations, described in foundational texts like the Sharangdhara Samhita. It is a five-ingredient powder blend where each component plays a specific role in clearing the airways and supporting the body through respiratory illness. It has been a go-to home remedy across the Indian subcontinent for generations, trusted by both traditional healers and modern Ayurvedic practitioners.
The formula works on multiple levels at once — pippali (long pepper) acts as a natural bronchodilator and helps thin mucus so it can be expelled more easily, while cinnamon and cardamom bring warmth and antimicrobial action to fight off infection. Vanshlochan (bamboo silica) is believed to soothe inflamed airways and support tissue repair. The rock candy base isn't just sweetener — it helps balance the heating nature of the spices and soothes the throat lining directly.
The traditional form is a fine, sweet-spiced powder (churna) taken mixed with honey or ghee and warm water — this delivery method is considered optimal in Ayurveda for respiratory conditions. Modern manufacturers offer it in capsules and tablets for convenience, though traditional practitioners often prefer the powder form for faster mucosal contact. Honey paste is a common preparation in home use, as honey itself adds additional soothing and antimicrobial benefit.
Sitopaladi Churna is documented in the Sharangdhara Samhita (13th century CE), one of the major Ayurvedic compendiums, and is also referenced in the Bhaishajya Ratnavali. It has been in continuous clinical use in Ayurvedic medicine for at least 700–800 years and remains one of the most commonly prescribed formulas for respiratory ailments in India today. Its name derives from 'Sitopala,' meaning rock candy or sugar candy, which is the base ingredient.
