This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

The olive tree has been cultivated for over 6,000 years across the Mediterranean basin and is central to the diets and healing traditions of ancient Greece, Egypt, Rome, and the Arab world. Every part of the tree — its fruit, oil, and leaves — offers distinct health benefits backed by thousands of years of use and a growing body of modern research. Today, olive is best known through extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), the cornerstone of the Mediterranean diet, and olive leaf extract, a concentrated source of the tree's powerful plant compounds.
Olive's benefits come primarily from a family of bitter plant compounds called polyphenols, with oleuropein and hydroxytyrosol being the most studied. These compounds act as potent antioxidants that protect cells from oxidative damage, help relax blood vessels to lower blood pressure, reduce the signaling molecules that drive chronic inflammation, and slow the absorption of glucose after meals. Oleocanthal, found in fresh extra virgin olive oil, works similarly to ibuprofen by blocking the same inflammatory enzymes — giving olive oil a natural, food-based anti-inflammatory effect.
Extra virgin olive oil is the most studied and most available form — use it as a daily culinary staple for cardiovascular and anti-inflammatory benefits. Olive leaf extract in capsule or tincture form delivers concentrated oleuropein (standardized extracts typically contain 6–25% oleuropein) for more targeted blood pressure or immune support. Olive leaf tea is a gentler traditional option. Whole olives provide fiber and polyphenols but also sodium from curing — choose low-sodium varieties when possible.
Olive cultivation traces back to Crete and the Eastern Mediterranean around 3500 BCE. Ancient Greeks called it the 'gift of Athena' and used olive oil for anointing, cooking, and wound care. Hippocrates documented olive oil for skin conditions and digestive complaints. In traditional Arab medicine (Unani-Tibb), olive leaf tea was prescribed for fever and infections. The 19th century saw European physicians using olive leaf decoctions for malaria. Modern nutritional science has validated much of this traditional wisdom — particularly through landmark research on the Mediterranean diet.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
