This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Nitric oxide (NO) is a tiny gas molecule your body produces in the walls of your blood vessels. It acts like a natural traffic controller for your circulatory system — telling blood vessels to relax and widen so blood flows more freely. You can't take nitric oxide directly as a supplement, but you can give your body the raw materials it needs to make more of it through specific foods and compounds.
Your body produces nitric oxide through two main pathways. In the first, an enzyme called nitric oxide synthase (NOS) converts the amino acid L-arginine into NO. In the second, bacteria on your tongue and in your gut convert dietary nitrates (found in beets and leafy greens) into nitrite, then into NO. Both pathways widen blood vessels, lower blood pressure, improve oxygen delivery to muscles, and support healthy nerve and immune function. L-citrulline is especially effective because it converts to L-arginine in your kidneys more efficiently than L-arginine supplements alone.
Beetroot juice and powder are convenient whole-food nitrate sources used in most sports and blood pressure research. L-citrulline powder or capsules are popular for pre-workout NO support. Combination supplements often include both nitrate sources and amino acid precursors alongside antioxidants to maximize NO activity.
The discovery of nitric oxide as a biological signaling molecule earned the 1998 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine (awarded to Furchgott, Ignarro, and Murad). Before this, it was known mainly as an air pollutant — the finding that the body produces it deliberately revolutionized cardiovascular medicine and opened the door to natural NO-support strategies.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
