This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Meditation is a family of practices that train the mind to focus, slow down, and become more aware of the present moment. Different styles emphasize different techniques — some focus on the breath, some on a mantra, some on scanning through the body, and some on cultivating feelings of compassion. What they all share is a deliberate effort to step out of autopilot and engage more intentionally with your own thoughts, feelings, and sensations.
Regular meditation appears to calm the body's stress response by dialing down activity in the brain's alarm center (the amygdala) and strengthening the thinking and self-regulation areas of the brain. It also lowers stress hormones like cortisol, slows the heart rate, and shifts the nervous system toward a more relaxed state. Over time, these changes seem to become more automatic — meaning meditators tend to recover from stressful events faster and feel less emotionally reactive overall.
The most clinically studied form is Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), an 8-week structured group program. Transcendental Meditation (TM), which uses a silent mantra, has a strong body of research on cardiovascular effects. Loving-Kindness Meditation focuses on generating compassion and is studied for depression and social anxiety. For beginners, app-guided daily sessions of 10–20 minutes are a practical and well-supported entry point.
Meditation practices trace back at least 3,000 years across Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist, and Sufi traditions. Its adoption into Western medicine began in earnest in the 1970s when Jon Kabat-Zinn developed the MBSR program at the University of Massachusetts. Since then, it has become one of the most rigorously researched mind-body interventions in modern clinical science.
