This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Coherent breathing is a deliberate practice of slowing your breathing to 5 full breaths per minute — about 5 seconds inhaling and 5 seconds exhaling — rather than the typical 12–18 breaths most adults take each minute. This specific rhythm sits at the sweet spot where your heart rate, blood pressure waves, and breathing all synchronize together, a state researchers call cardiovascular resonance. It is one of the most studied breathing techniques in modern psychophysiology and is used by therapists, cardiologists, and performance coaches alike.
At 5 breaths per minute, your breathing naturally lines up with your body's built-in blood pressure regulation rhythm, amplifying something called the baroreflex — your body's feedback loop for keeping blood pressure stable. This supercharges your vagus nerve activity, the main cable of your rest-and-digest system, pulling the nervous system out of fight-or-flight and into a calmer, more recovered state. The result is a measurable boost in heart rate variability (HRV), which is a strong marker of how well your body handles stress and recovers from it.
Coherent breathing can be practiced completely on your own once you know the rhythm — simply inhale for a count of 5 and exhale for a count of 5. Many people use a metronome app, a guided audio track, or a visual pacer to keep the pace consistent, especially at first. Biofeedback devices that display real-time HRV let you see the synchronization happening, which some people find motivating. Sessions typically run 10–20 minutes.
