This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Majun Falasfa — literally 'Philosopher's Electuary' — is a classical Unani compound formula recorded in major Greco-Arabic medical texts as a premium tonic for the brain and nervous system. It is prepared as a semi-solid paste by combining a range of warming and nervine herbs in a base of honey and ghee, which the Unani system considers essential for carrying the herbs' benefits deep into the body. The formula has been prescribed for centuries by Unani hakim (physicians) for people suffering from mental exhaustion, forgetfulness, anxiety, and low vitality.
Each herb in the formula contributes to the overall effect: adaptogens like ashwagandha help the body handle stress more smoothly, nervines like brahmi support memory and calm the mind, and warming spices like ginger and long pepper improve circulation and help the body absorb everything more efficiently. Saffron adds mood-lifting properties, while black seed provides antioxidant support that protects brain cells over time. Together, the formula works as a holistic nervine tonic rather than targeting a single pathway.
Traditionally prepared and dispensed as a thick paste (electuary) taken by the spoonful. Modern Unani pharmacies in South Asia and the Middle East also produce tablet and capsule versions based on standardized ingredient ratios. The paste form is considered more authentic to classical Unani pharmacopeia and may deliver ingredients more bioavailably due to the fat-soluble carrier (ghee).
The formula traces its roots to the classical Unani tradition, which blends ancient Greek Hippocratic medicine with Persian, Arab, and Indian influences. It appears in reference texts of Unani materia medica and was valued by court physicians as a superior brain tonic ('muqawwi-e-maghz'). Its name — Philosopher's Electuary — reflects its historical association with mental sharpness and scholarly vitality. The formula has remained in continuous clinical use by Unani practitioners across South Asia and the broader Islamic medical world for several centuries.
