This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

The traditional Finnish sauna is a small wooden room heated to 80–100°C (176–212°F) using a wood-burning or electric stove topped with rocks. Bathers sit in the dry heat, occasionally splashing water on the rocks to create a burst of steam called löyly, which raises perceived heat and humidity momentarily. It has been a cornerstone of Finnish daily life for over 2,000 years — originally used for bathing, healing, and even childbirth.
The intense heat raises your core body temperature, triggering a cascade of beneficial responses: your heart rate increases (mimicking moderate aerobic exercise), blood vessels dilate to improve circulation, and your body releases heat-shock proteins that help repair damaged cells. Sweating flushes metabolic waste, while the post-sauna cool-down activates the parasympathetic nervous system, producing deep relaxation and improved sleep.
Traditional wood-burning saunas are considered the gold standard for authentic experience and produce a softer, more enveloping heat. Electric saunas are more common in modern apartments and gyms and are easier to control. Infrared saunas operate at lower temperatures (45–60°C) and are a separate category with somewhat different physiological effects. Portable sauna tents offer convenience but cannot replicate the thermal environment of a true Finnish sauna.
Saunas appear in Finnish records dating back over 2,000 years and are referenced in the Kalevala, Finland's national epic. Historically, the sauna was the most sterile room in the household — women gave birth there, the sick were brought to heal, and the dead were prepared for burial. Today Finland has approximately 3 million saunas for a population of 5.5 million. Regular sauna use has been studied intensively in Finnish populations, producing some of the strongest long-term observational cardiovascular data available for any lifestyle practice.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
