This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Itrifal Saghir is a classical Unani compound formulation that has been used in Persian and South Asian medical traditions for centuries. It combines the three myrobalans — the same fruits that form Ayurveda's Triphala — with nervine and digestive herbs including rose petals, mastic resin, and spikenard. The word 'itrifal' itself is derived from the Arabic rendering of 'triphala,' meaning three fruits. The 'Saghir' (small or lesser) variant is a refined, focused formula, distinct from the larger Itrifal Kabir.
Unani medicine views Itrifal Saghir as a formula that strengthens the brain's temperament (mizaj), clears phlegmatic imbalances from the head, and nourishes the nervous system. From a modern perspective, its constituent herbs contribute antioxidant, adaptogenic, and nervine effects — Emblica officinalis provides potent vitamin C and polyphenols that protect neural tissue, Terminalia chebula has demonstrated neuroprotective and gut-brain axis benefits, and Nardostachys jatamansi has been studied for its calming and memory-enhancing properties. Together, the formula supports cognitive clarity, stress resilience, and sleep quality.
The traditional form is a semi-solid electuary (paste or jam called majoon) taken with warm water or milk. Commercial preparations now include tablets, capsules, and powders. The electuary form is considered most authentic in Unani practice and may offer better bioavailability due to honey or sugar acting as a vehicle. Dosage and absorption can vary between forms.
Itrifal Saghir is documented in classical Unani texts including the Canon of Medicine (Kitab al-Qanun) tradition attributed to Ibn Sina and later compiled in South Asian Unani formularies such as the National Formulary of Unani Medicine (NFUM) published by the Government of India. It has been prescribed by Unani hakims for over a millennium for conditions described as weakness of the brain, forgetfulness, and disturbed sleep linked to phlegmatic or bilious imbalances.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
