What does Krill oil help with? High triglycerides: Krill oil consistently lowers elevated triglyceride levels, which are a key risk factor for heart disease. Even at lower EPA+DHA doses than typical fish oil, krill oil shows meaningful reductions — likely because the phospholipid form is absorbed more efficiently. High cholesterol: Several trials show krill oil modestly raises HDL ('good') cholesterol and lowers LDL ('bad') cholesterol. Its effect on cholesterol appears slightly more favorable than equivalent doses of standard fish oil in some head-to-head comparisons. Joint pain and inflammation: People with mild-to-moderate knee osteoarthritis and general joint discomfort have reported reduced pain and stiffness with krill oil supplementation. Its anti-inflammatory omega-3s, combined with astaxanthin, work together to calm the inflammatory signals that drive joint pain. PMS and menstrual pain: Women taking krill oil reported significantly less menstrual pain and emotional PMS symptoms compared to those taking fish oil or placebo in one well-cited trial. The phospholipid-bound omega-3s may be particularly effective at influencing the prostaglandins that drive cramping and mood swings. Heart disease risk: By lowering triglycerides, reducing inflammation, and modestly improving cholesterol ratios, krill oil addresses several of the key drivers of cardiovascular disease. It's considered a heart-healthy supplement in line with broader omega-3 evidence. Brain health and memory: DHA is one of the most abundant fats in the brain, and getting it via phospholipid-bound krill oil may support cell membrane integrity, cognitive function, and mood regulation. The added choline in krill oil also supports neurotransmitter production. Dry eyes: Omega-3 supplementation — including krill oil — has been studied for reducing dry eye symptoms by supporting the tear film and reducing ocular surface inflammation. Some ophthalmology guidelines now mention omega-3s as a supportive strategy for dry eye management. Metabolic syndrome: Krill oil shows potential for improving several markers of metabolic syndrome simultaneously — including triglycerides, blood sugar regulation, and inflammation — making it useful for people dealing with the cluster of risk factors that precede type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Liver health (non-alcoholic fatty liver): Early research suggests krill oil may help reduce fat accumulation in the liver and support healthier liver enzyme levels. The choline content plays a key role here, as choline is essential for the liver to package and export fat properly.

This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!
