This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Korean Angelica (Angelica gigas) is a large, deep-rooted perennial herb native to Korea, Japan, and northern China, distinguished from its close Chinese relative (Angelica sinensis) by its striking purple stems and a richer concentration of pyranocoumarin compounds. The dried root, called Danggui in Korean and Chinese medicine, has been used for over a thousand years as one of the most important herbal medicines for women's health. It remains a cornerstone herb in Korean traditional medicine (Hanbang) and is increasingly studied for its unique active compounds not found in other Angelica species.
Korean Angelica's most notable compounds — decursin and decursinol angelate — appear to work in several complementary ways: they gently modulate estrogen activity, support healthy blood flow, and help calm uterine muscle spasms that cause cramping. The herb also seems to have mild calming effects on the nervous system and may support the body's natural response to fatigue and stress. Unlike synthetic estrogens, its compounds interact with estrogen receptors selectively, making them of significant research interest for safer hormonal support.
Standardized extracts (typically standardized to decursin content) offer the most consistent dosing. Traditional decoctions made from dried root slices are still widely used in Korean and East Asian clinical practice. Capsules and tablets provide convenience for daily use, while tinctures offer faster absorption. Combination formulas pairing Danggui with herbs like Peony Root (Baejakbyak) or Cnidium (Cheongung) are traditional and still popular.
Danggui has appeared in Korean and Chinese herbal texts for over 1,500 years, most famously in the classical formula Danggui-Jakyak-San (Angelica and Peony Powder), still prescribed today for menstrual disorders and pregnancy support. In Korean Hanbang medicine, it is considered one of the top four 'great tonics,' alongside Ginseng, Deer Antler, and Astragalus. Its nickname 'female ginseng' reflects its central place in women's health traditions across East Asia.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
