This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Korean Ginseng (Panax ginseng) and Deer Antler Velvet (Nokgak, from Cervus elaphus or Cervus nippon) are two of the most revered tonics in Korean traditional medicine, often prescribed together as a synergistic pair. Ginseng provides adaptogenic and energy-regulating benefits, while deer antler — harvested humanely before calcification — supplies growth factors, collagen precursors, and hormonal building blocks. Together they form Yonggak, a foundational restorative formula used for centuries across Korea, China, and Japan.
Ginseng's active compounds, called ginsenosides, help the body handle stress more efficiently by supporting adrenal function and regulating cortisol. Deer antler velvet contains naturally occurring IGF-1, IGF-2, and growth factor precursors that support muscle repair, joint health, and anabolic hormone signaling. Together, the pair works across multiple systems — energy metabolism, hormonal health, immune modulation, and physical resilience — with each ingredient reinforcing what the other does.
The most clinically studied form of ginseng is Korean Red Ginseng (steam-processed Panax ginseng root), standardized to 5–7% total ginsenosides. Deer antler is available as velvet powder, water-extracted capsules, or spray formulations. Traditional Korean medicine uses both as decocted teas or alcohol tinctures. Look for deer antler products standardized for IGF-1 content and ginseng products with verified ginsenoside concentration.
In traditional Korean medicine (Hanbang), deer antler and ginseng together represent a yin-yang tonic pair — ginseng warming and energizing (yang), deer antler nourishing deep essence and structure (yin/jing). This combination appears in Dongui Bogam (1613 CE), the foundational text of Korean medicine by Heo Jun, and has been part of royal health formulas for over 1,000 years. Deer antler velvet has been traded on the Korean peninsula since at least the Goryeo dynasty (918–1392 CE).
