This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

A kidney cleanse protocol is a structured, multi-ingredient approach that combines specific herbs, targeted nutrients, and hydration practices to support the kidneys' natural ability to filter blood, produce urine, and eliminate waste. Unlike a single supplement, it works synergistically — some ingredients increase urine flow, others reduce crystal formation in the urinary tract, and still others help calm inflammation in the renal system. This protocol has roots in virtually every traditional healing culture, where kidney-supportive plants like dandelion, nettle, and chanca piedra were standard tools for urinary and metabolic health.
The kidneys filter roughly 200 liters of blood daily and regulate fluid balance, blood pressure, and waste elimination. A kidney cleanse works by increasing urine volume (which flushes waste and reduces stone-forming mineral concentration), providing compounds that inhibit calcium oxalate and uric acid crystal formation, and reducing inflammation in the renal tubules and urinary tract. Certain herbs like chanca piedra appear to relax smooth muscle in the ureter and reduce crystal adhesion, while magnesium and potassium citrate actively bind oxalate before it can form stones.
Herbal teas are ideal for boosting hydration while delivering active compounds; capsules and tinctures offer more precise dosing of standardized extracts. A whole-food dietary protocol — high in water-rich vegetables, low in sodium and oxalate — underpins the entire approach and amplifies the effect of supplemental herbs.
Nearly every ancient medical tradition developed kidney support protocols. Ayurveda used punarnava and gokshura for renal edema and stones. Traditional Chinese Medicine employed jin qian cao (gold coin grass) specifically for urinary stones. South American folk medicine relied on chanca piedra — literally 'stone breaker' in Portuguese — for generations before modern research confirmed its anti-lithiatic properties. Dandelion and nettle were standard European diuretic herbs documented in medieval herbals. Modern naturopathic medicine synthesized these traditions into structured protocols supported by contemporary research.
