This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Jin Qian Cao, meaning 'Gold Coin Grass,' is a creeping herb native to China and Southeast Asia that has been central to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for over a thousand years. It is classified as one of the most important lithontriptic (stone-dissolving) herbs in the Chinese pharmacopoeia. The plant's round, coin-shaped leaves gave it its poetic name and signaled — to traditional healers — its affinity for round, stone-like formations in the body.
Jin Qian Cao works through several pathways at once: its flavonoid compounds (especially quercetin and rutin) appear to reduce the conditions that allow crystals to form and clump together in the kidneys and bile ducts, while its diuretic action increases urine flow to physically flush out smaller stones and gravel. It also has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that help calm irritation in the urinary and biliary tracts. Traditional Chinese medicine describes it as 'clearing damp heat' — a framework that maps closely to reducing urinary inflammation and infection.
Traditional decoction (boiling the dried herb in water) remains the most culturally authentic and clinically studied form — typical doses use 15–60g of dried herb per day in water. For modern convenience, standardized capsules, tablets, and concentrated granules are widely available and more consistent in dosing. Tinctures work well for people who want a liquid form. Patent formulas often combine Jin Qian Cao with complementary herbs like Hai Jin Sha (lygodium spores) and Ji Nei Jin for synergistic stone-clearing effects.
Jin Qian Cao has been documented in Chinese medical texts for over 1,000 years, most notably referenced in the Bencao Gangmu Shiyi (Supplement to the Compendium of Materia Medica) and used extensively in southern Chinese folk medicine. It remains one of the most prescribed single herbs in Chinese hospitals for urolithiasis (kidney stone disease) and is included in the official Chinese Pharmacopoeia. Its reputation traveled through Chinese diaspora communities across Southeast Asia, where parallel uses for stones and jaundice developed independently.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
