This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Zhu Ling Tang is a roughly 1,800-year-old Chinese herbal formula composed of five ingredients: Polyporus umbellatus, Poria cocos, Alisma orientale, Talcum, and Ejiao. It was first described by Zhang Zhongjing in the Shang Han Lun (Treatise on Cold-Induced Disorders) as a traditional treatment for patterns of fluid accumulation combined with internal heat and yin deficiency. Unlike simple diuretic formulas, it is traditionally designed to drain excess fluid and clear heat while simultaneously moistening and protecting the body's own fluids.
The formula is thought to work through two complementary actions: its diuretic herbs (Polyporus, Poria, Alisma, and Talcum) are traditionally understood to increase urine output and help clear heat from the urinary tract, potentially reducing burning and irritation. Ejiao, the fifth herb, is a yin-nourishing blood tonic that practitioners have long used to counterbalance the fluid-draining effect of the other four, with the intent of protecting against over-drying and supporting the mucosal lining of the urinary tract. Together, these actions are thought to address the traditional clinical picture of urinary irritation in people who also show signs of dryness or deficiency.
Traditional decoction (boiling the raw herbs in water) is considered most therapeutically complete. Granule extracts dissolved in hot water are the most practical modern substitute. Capsules and tablets are available but may offer slightly reduced bioavailability compared to liquid forms. Standardized Kampo preparations (Chorei-to) produced in Japan follow strict pharmacopoeia standards and are among the most rigorously tested commercial versions.
Zhu Ling Tang was recorded by the physician Zhang Zhongjing around 200 CE and became one of the foundational formulas of classical Chinese internal medicine. It was later adopted into the Japanese Kampo tradition as Chorei-to, where it is widely used in contemporary practice, particularly for urinary tract infections and bladder complaints. It remains one of the most widely prescribed herbal formulas in East Asian clinical practice today.
