This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Gamiguibi-tang is a classical Korean herbal formula that builds on the foundational Chinese formula Guipi-tang by adding Gardenia jasminoides (Chija) and Paeonia lactiflora (Jakyak) — the 'gami' (加味) meaning 'with additions.' This expanded formula is used in Korean traditional medicine to address what practitioners describe as deficiency of heart blood and spleen qi, which in everyday terms means the body's reserves for clear thinking, emotional steadiness, and restful sleep are running low. It is one of the most commonly prescribed multi-herb formulas in Korean medical clinics today.
The formula works through several complementary pathways. Herbs like ginseng, astragalus, and atractylodes are thought to restore energy and digestive function, helping the body absorb nutrients that fuel brain and nervous system health. Calming herbs including ziziphus seed, longan, and polygala support healthy neurotransmitter activity — particularly GABA and serotonin pathways — which helps quiet an overactive, worry-prone mind. The added Gardenia and Paeonia components bring mild cooling and anti-inflammatory properties that address the restlessness and irritability that often accompany chronic stress.
Traditional decoction (boiling the raw herbs) is considered the most bioavailable form in Korean medicine, but commercially prepared granule extracts and concentrated capsules are now widely available and clinically studied. Granules dissolve in warm water and are the most common clinical form used in modern Korean medicine hospitals and research trials.
Guipi-tang originated in the Chinese Song dynasty text Jisheng Fang (1253 CE) and was later expanded in the Ming dynasty. Korean medicine adopted and modified it into Gamiguibi-tang, which has been a cornerstone formula in Korean traditional clinics for centuries. It remains one of the top-prescribed formulas in Korean traditional medicine hospitals and is formally listed in the Korean Pharmacopoeia.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
