This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Fu Xiao Mai (浮小麦) literally means 'floating small wheat' — it refers to the lightweight, immature or unfilled grains of common wheat (Triticum aestivum) that float when placed in water. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it has been used for over a thousand years as a gentle remedy traditionally associated with excessive sweating and nervous agitation. Unlike the fully ripened wheat grain used as food, Fu Xiao Mai is harvested specifically for its medicinal lightness and particular energetic properties.
TCM theory classifies Fu Xiao Mai as sweet, cool, and heart-nourishing — it is said to consolidate the body's protective energy (Wei Qi) at the surface to prevent fluid loss through sweat, and to calm the Heart spirit (Shen) to ease anxiety and emotional turbulence. From a modern perspective, its flavonoids (vitexin, orientin) and GABA content are thought to support calmer nerve signaling and may help modulate the body's sweat response, though this remains preliminary and has not been confirmed in clinical trials. It may also provide mild phytoestrogen-like activity potentially relevant to menopausal sweating.
The classic preparation is a water decoction (boiled tea) using 15–30g of the dried grain, often combined with other herbs like Glycyrrhiza (Gan Cao) and Ziziphus dates in the classical formula Gan Mai Da Zao Tang. Modern use includes convenient granule sachets, compressed tablets in patent TCM formulas, and raw grain added to soups or porridges. Decoction is the traditional gold standard for therapeutic effect.
Fu Xiao Mai first appears in classical Chinese medical texts around the Jin-Yuan dynasties and is perhaps most famous as a key ingredient in Gan Mai Da Zao Tang (Licorice, Wheat, and Jujube Decoction), a formula first recorded in the Jinkui Yaolue (Essentials of the Golden Cabinet) by Zhang Zhongjing around 200 CE. This formula has remained in continuous clinical use for nearly 1,800 years for emotional distress, weeping without reason, and night sweats — a remarkable testimony to its perceived effectiveness.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
