Helps

What does Benfotiamine help with? Diabetic nerve pain (peripheral neuropathy): This is benfotiamine's best-supported use. High blood sugar over time damages the nerves in your feet, legs, and hands — causing pain, burning, and tingling. Benfotiamine helps shield those nerves by blocking the sugar-related damage pathways that cause the problem in the first place. Multiple clinical trials show meaningful reductions in pain and symptom scores with consistent use. Numbness and tingling in hands and feet: Whether from diabetes or alcohol-related nerve damage, benfotiamine helps restore nerve signaling by ensuring nerve cells have enough active thiamine to function properly. Users often notice gradual improvement in sensation and reduced pins-and-needles over several weeks of use. High blood sugar complications: Chronically elevated blood sugar triggers several damaging processes in blood vessels and organs. Benfotiamine is one of the few compounds shown in human studies to block multiple of these pathways simultaneously, helping protect blood vessels, nerves, and kidneys from long-term sugar damage. Kidney stress from diabetes: Early research suggests benfotiamine may help protect kidney cells from the inflammatory and structural damage caused by high blood sugar. It appears to reduce markers of kidney stress in people with diabetes, though this area needs more large-scale study. Alcoholic neuropathy: Heavy alcohol use depletes thiamine and damages peripheral nerves. Benfotiamine has been used clinically — particularly in Europe — to restore thiamine levels and ease nerve pain in people with alcohol-related neuropathy, with some controlled trial evidence supporting benefit. Memory and cognitive decline: Thiamine deficiency is linked to cognitive decline, and some Alzheimer's research suggests that thiamine metabolism is disrupted in the brain. Early clinical work with benfotiamine shows it may help slow cognitive decline in people with mild impairment, likely by improving energy metabolism in brain cells. Vitamin B1 deficiency: For anyone struggling to correct a thiamine deficiency through regular supplements, benfotiamine is a practical upgrade — it achieves much higher tissue thiamine levels at similar oral doses and is well tolerated long-term. Eye damage from diabetes (retinopathy): High blood sugar can damage the tiny blood vessels in the retina, risking vision over time. Animal studies strongly support benfotiamine's protective effect on retinal vessels, and the same mechanisms are thought to apply in humans, though large human trials specifically for retinopathy are still limited.

This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!
