Feet burn at night in bed
You get into bed, and your feet start to burn. The sheets feel too warm on your skin. Many people stick their feet out to find cool air.
This often comes from nerves in the feet that fire off wrong signals. Doctors call this peripheral neuropathy, which means nerve damage in the feet or hands. The house is quiet at night, so you notice the feeling more.
Common reasons include high blood sugar, low B vitamin levels, and some drugs. Heavy drinking, thyroid trouble, and poor blood flow can play a part too. In some people, no clear cause ever shows up.
When to see someone
See a doctor if the burning creeps up your legs, or parts of your feet go numb. Get checked soon for any sore, cut, or blister on your foot that will not heal. Sudden weakness, trouble walking, or a change in foot color needs care the same day.
Below is a list of remedies that people have long used for burning, tingling feet. Each one carries a grade that shows how much solid research stands behind it. A grade is not a promise, so talk with your doctor before you try any of them.
