What is Colloidal Gold? Colloidal gold is pure gold broken down into ultra-tiny particles — often just a few nanometers wide — and suspended in purified water. Unlike gold salts (such as sodium aurothiomalate), which are pharmaceutical drugs with a well-documented side effect profile, colloidal gold is an elemental form that proponents believe is better tolerated. It has been used in various healing traditions for thousands of years, and modern research is beginning to explore the biological activity of gold nanoparticles. How does Colloidal Gold work? Gold nanoparticles appear to interact with immune cells and inflammatory signaling pathways, which may help calm overactive inflammation. They also seem to have antioxidant-like activity and may support healthy nerve signaling — which could explain the traditional and anecdotal links to mood and cognitive clarity. The exact way colloidal gold influences the brain and joints in humans at supplement doses is still being studied. What forms does Colloidal Gold come in? The most common form is a liquid suspension, typically taken sublingually (under the tongue) for faster absorption. Capsule forms exist but some manufacturers argue liquid is more bioavailable. Topical gels are used cosmetically. Sprays are convenient but often lower concentration. Always check that the product specifies true nanoparticle gold, not ionic gold solutions. Where it comes from: Gold has been used medicinally for over 5,000 years . Ancient Egyptians ingested gold for mental and spiritual purification. In Ayurveda, a purified calcined gold preparation called Swarna Bhasma has been used for centuries for vitality, immunity, and cognitive function. In 19th-century Europe, gold chloride was used for nervous disorders and alcoholism. Modern injectable gold salts were once a mainstream treatment for rheumatoid arthritis before being largely replaced by newer drugs — a fact that gives the anti-inflammatory lineage of gold real clinical credibility.

Helps

What does Colloidal Gold help with? Brain fog and poor focus: Gold has a long traditional association with mental clarity and alertness. Some modern users and small studies report improved focus and concentration with colloidal gold supplementation, possibly related to its interaction with nerve signaling pathways. The effect is mild and not well-established in large clinical trials. Joint pain and arthritis: This is where gold has its strongest scientific pedigree — injectable gold salts were used as a mainstream rheumatoid arthritis treatment for decades. Colloidal gold (elemental nanoparticles) is a milder, oral form with preliminary evidence suggesting anti-inflammatory effects in joints, though direct human RCTs on colloidal gold specifically for arthritis are limited. Anxiety and mood imbalances: Historically, gold preparations were used by physicians to calm nervous anxiety and emotional instability. Some users report a noticeable mood-lifting effect within weeks of daily use. The mechanism may involve antioxidant activity in neural tissue, though this remains under-researched in rigorous human trials. Inflammation (general): Gold nanoparticles have shown meaningful anti-inflammatory activity in laboratory and early clinical settings, appearing to calm certain inflammatory signaling molecules. This is consistent with gold's long pharmaceutical history as an anti-inflammatory agent in its injectable drug forms. Fatigue and low energy: Traditional Ayurvedic use of Swarna Bhasma includes improving stamina and vitality. Some modern colloidal gold users report reduced fatigue, though the clinical evidence for this specific effect is mostly anecdotal and traditional in nature. Memory and cognitive decline: Early laboratory research suggests gold nanoparticles may support nerve health and communication, which underpins interest in age-related cognitive decline. Human evidence at the colloidal supplement level is preliminary, but the biological rationale is plausible and being actively investigated. Stress and nervous system tension: Gold's historical use in European and Ayurvedic medicine for calming the nervous system is well-documented. Users often describe a sense of calm focus rather than sedation, distinguishing it from herbs like valerian. This effect remains largely traditional and user-reported rather than proven in modern trials. Skin aging and inflammation (topical): Gold nanoparticles in topical skincare formulations have been studied for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects on skin cells. Some small studies and cosmetic research suggest reduced fine lines and redness, and topical gold-infused products have genuine popularity in the beauty and dermatology space.

This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!
