Tingling feet at night
You get into bed, and your feet start to buzz. It can feel like pins and needles, a light prickle, or a faint burn. The day was fine, but now you notice every bit of it.
Nerves in the feet carry these signals. Blood sugar that stays high over time can wear on those nerves. Cold feet, tight shoes, low vitamin B12, or poor blood flow can add to it.
Nights often feel worse because the room is quiet and still. Nothing else is pulling at your mind. Lying down also warms the feet, which can make the buzzing louder.
When to see someone
See a doctor if the tingling turns to numbness, so you could not feel a pebble in your shoe. Go the same day for any cut, blister, or sore on the foot that is red, warm, oozing, or not healing. Get checked soon for sudden weakness, a foot that drags, numbness creeping up the legs, or if your blood sugar has not been tested lately.
Below is a list of remedies people have used for foot tingling tied to diabetes. Each one carries a grade. The grade shows how much research has been done on it, not how well it will do for you.
