No morning erections anymore
You used to wake up hard most mornings. Now you wake up soft, and you have noticed. Maybe it faded over months, or maybe it stopped quite fast.
Most men get a few erections each night while they sleep. These come with normal sleep cycles, not with sexy dreams. So when they stop, the reason often sits in your sleep, your blood flow, your nerves, or your hormones.
Broken or short sleep is a common reason, and so is sleep apnea, where your breathing stops and starts at night. Low testosterone, some drugs for blood pressure or low mood, smoking, and heavy drinking can all play a part. Blood vessel and nerve health matter too, since an erection needs strong blood flow.
When to see someone
See a doctor if your morning erections have been gone for more than a few weeks. Go sooner if you have chest pain, get out of breath easily, feel numb in your legs or groin, or pee a lot and feel very thirsty. Also get checked for smaller testicles, thinning body hair, blurred vision, new headaches, or a low mood that will not lift.
Below are traditional remedies that people have used for erection trouble. Each one carries an evidence grade, which shows how strong the research behind it is. A high grade is not a promise of results, so check with your doctor or pharmacist first, above all if you take drugs for your heart or blood pressure.
