This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Wen Dan Tang is one of the most widely used classical formulas in Chinese herbal medicine, with a recorded history stretching back to Sun Simiao's 7th-century masterwork 'Bei Ji Qian Jin Yao Fang.' Its name — 'Warm the Gallbladder Decoction' — refers not to body temperature but to the Chinese medical concept of restoring courage and calm to a system made timid and unsettled by internal phlegm-heat. The formula typically contains six to eight herbs working together to settle digestion, calm the nervous system, and ease mental agitation.
In plain terms, the formula targets the gut-brain connection that Chinese medicine has recognized for centuries — the idea that digestive imbalance and emotional distress reinforce each other. Banxia (Pinellia) and Zhu Ru (bamboo shavings) reduce nausea and nervous agitation; Zhi Shi and Chen Pi (citrus peels) support healthy digestive movement; Fu Ling (Poria mushroom) has a calming, mild sedative effect and supports gut health. Modern research suggests the formula influences neurotransmitter activity — particularly GABA and serotonin pathways — while also reducing markers of inflammation that may contribute to anxiety and sleep disruption.
Traditional decoction (boiling raw herbs in water for 30–40 minutes) is considered the most complete and bioavailable form. Concentrated granules dissolved in hot water are the most practical modern equivalent. Capsules and tablets offer convenience but may have reduced potency compared to decoction. Standardized granule preparations from reputable Chinese herbal manufacturers (e.g., Sun Ten, Evergreen, KPC) are widely used in clinical practice.
The formula originated in Sun Simiao's 'Bei Ji Qian Jin Yao Fang' (Essential Formulas Worth a Thousand Gold, c. 650 CE) and was refined in the Song Dynasty text 'San Yin Ji Yi Bing Zheng Fang Lun' (c. 1174 CE) by Chen Yan, who established the version most commonly used today. It has been a cornerstone formula in Chinese psychiatry and internal medicine for over 1,300 years and remains one of the top-prescribed formulas in contemporary Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) clinical practice across China, Taiwan, Japan (as Untan-to), and Korea.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
