This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

A sitz bath involves sitting in a shallow basin or tub filled with warm water so that the hips, buttocks, and perineal area are submerged. The name comes from the German word 'sitzen,' meaning to sit. It is one of the oldest and most widely recommended conservative therapies for conditions of the lower rectum, anus, and perineum.
Warm water increases local blood flow to the perineal tissues, relaxing the internal anal sphincter and surrounding muscles while reducing pain and swelling. Improved circulation supports tissue repair and helps clear inflammatory byproducts. Optional additives like Epsom salt may provide mild antiseptic or anti-inflammatory benefits, though the warm water itself accounts for most of the therapeutic effect.
The most convenient form is a plastic sitz basin designed to fit over a standard toilet seat, allowing targeted soaking without filling an entire bathtub. Full bathtub soaks are equally effective and preferred by some. Portable inflatable basins are travel-friendly. Water temperature is typically set between 40–45°C (104–113°F). Some clinicians recommend alternating warm and cool water (contrast hydrotherapy) for chronic conditions, though warm-only is standard for acute inflammation.
Sitz baths have roots in 19th-century European hydrotherapy movements, particularly in German-speaking countries where Kneipp water-cure traditions popularized balneotherapy for a range of conditions. By the 20th century, sitz baths became a routine recommendation in obstetric and colorectal clinical practice worldwide and remain a first-line conservative measure for hemorrhoids, anal fissures, and postpartum perineal trauma.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
