This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Abhayarishta is a classical Ayurvedic fermented liquid formulation described in texts including the Ashtanga Hridayam and Charaka Samhita. It is prepared by fermenting a herbal decoction — anchored by Haritaki (Terminalia chebula) — with natural sugars and a range of supporting herbs over several weeks. The fermentation process both preserves the formula and is thought to influence the availability of the active compounds, though this has not been confirmed in clinical trials.
Haritaki, the primary herb, is thought to act as a gentle bowel regulator — it may soften stools and stimulate peristalsis at standard doses while also toning the colon wall over time. Supporting herbs like Trivrit and Danti are traditionally considered to add mild purgative action, while Vidanga is used in traditional practice to help address intestinal fermentation and bloating. Together the formula is designed, within Ayurvedic theory, to clear accumulated waste (known as 'ama') from the gut and support the liver's natural cleansing role.
Abhayarishta is almost exclusively available as a bottled fermented liquid (arishta), typically taken diluted in warm water. It is not available in capsule or tablet form in its classical preparation, though some modern manufacturers offer encapsulated dried extracts of similar herb blends. The traditional liquid form is preferred for maintaining the integrity of the fermented preparation.
Abhayarishta has been used in Ayurvedic clinical practice for over 2,000 years, with documented references in the Charaka Samhita (one of the foundational Ayurvedic medical texts). It is among the most widely prescribed Ayurvedic formulations for ano-rectal conditions and chronic constipation in South Asian traditional medicine, and remains in active clinical use across India today, manufactured by licensed Ayurvedic pharmacies under AYUSH guidelines.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
