This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Shen Ling Bai Zhu San is a 10-herb Chinese herbal formula first recorded in the Song Dynasty classic 'Tai Ping Hui Min He Ji Ju Fang' (circa 1107 CE). It was designed for people whose digestive system is chronically underperforming — producing symptoms like loose stools, fatigue after eating, bloating, and low energy. In Chinese medicine terms, this is called 'Spleen Qi Deficiency with Dampness,' which maps roughly to what modern medicine might describe as poor gut motility, compromised intestinal barrier function, and dysregulated immune response in the gut.
The formula works through several overlapping pathways. Key herbs like ginseng and atractylodes support gut muscle tone, reduce intestinal inflammation, and help regulate the balance of bacteria in the gut. Poria and Yi Yi Ren help absorb excess fluid in the intestines, reducing loose stools and bloating. Sha Ren and Jie Geng help move digestive energy and protect the gut lining. Together, the herbs create an environment where the gut can recover its normal rhythm and absorb nutrients more efficiently.
Traditional preparation is as a fine powder (san) mixed with rice water or boiled into a decoction. Modern products are most commonly available as capsules, tablets, or instant granules dissolved in warm water — all of which are convenient and effective. Standardized granule extracts are widely used in clinical TCM practice and in most published studies.
First formalized in China during the Song Dynasty (960–1279 CE), this formula has been a cornerstone of digestive care in TCM for nearly 900 years. It remains one of the most commonly prescribed formulas for gastrointestinal complaints in China, Japan, and Taiwan today, and is listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. Its long clinical track record across multiple East Asian medical traditions has made it a natural candidate for modern research into IBS, IBD, and gut microbiome modulation.
