This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Lactobacillus rhamnosus GR-1 and Lactobacillus reuteri RC-14 are two specific probiotic strains that were intentionally selected from healthy women's urogenital tracts because of their remarkable ability to survive the journey from the gut to the vagina and actually set up residence there. Unlike generic probiotic blends, this pairing was purpose-built for women's vaginal and urinary health, backed by decades of targeted clinical research. They are the most studied probiotic combination for urogenital conditions in women worldwide.
When taken orally, these strains travel through the digestive tract and migrate to the vaginal environment, where they produce lactic acid to keep the pH naturally acidic, hydrogen peroxide to crowd out harmful bacteria, and signaling compounds that discourage pathogens from sticking to vaginal walls. They essentially act as reinforcements for your body's own natural defense system, restoring the Lactobacillus-dominant environment that keeps the vagina healthy and self-regulating. A balanced vaginal microbiome is strongly linked to lower rates of BV, yeast overgrowth, and UTIs.
The oral capsule is the most thoroughly studied and convenient form — the strains are capable of migrating from the gut to the vaginal tract. Each capsule typically contains at least 1 billion CFUs (colony-forming units) of each strain. Vaginal suppositories are also available and deliver the strains more directly, which may be useful for acute situations. Freeze-dried formats require refrigeration to maintain viability; some newer formulations use microencapsulation for room-temperature stability.
GR-1 was first isolated in the 1980s by Dr. Andrew Bruce and Dr. Gregor Reid at the University of Toronto from a healthy woman's urinary tract. RC-14 was similarly isolated from vaginal microbiota of a healthy woman. The decades-long collaboration between Reid and his team — including researchers at Lawson Health Research Institute in Canada and the University of Western Ontario — produced the foundational clinical evidence base that established these two strains as the gold standard for urogenital probiotic therapy. Their work demonstrated for the first time that oral probiotics could successfully colonize the vaginal environment.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
