This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Niacinamide is the skin-friendly form of vitamin B3, widely used in serums and lotions for its ability to work across multiple skin concerns simultaneously. Unlike many active ingredients that target one problem, niacinamide strengthens the skin's protective barrier, evens tone, reduces shine, and calms inflammation all at once. It is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and is considered one of the most versatile and well-researched topical skincare ingredients available.
Niacinamide works by boosting the skin's production of ceramides and other barrier lipids, which keeps moisture locked in and irritants out. It slows the transfer of pigment-producing melanosomes from deeper skin cells to the surface, which gradually fades dark spots and evens skin tone. It also reduces sebum (oil) production in the pores, calms inflammatory signals that drive redness and breakouts, and supports collagen production to improve fine lines over time.
Serums deliver niacinamide at higher concentrations with a lightweight feel, making them ideal for targeting specific concerns before moisturizer. Lotions and moisturizers combine niacinamide with hydrating ingredients for a more general barrier-support approach. Toners and face washes with niacinamide exist but offer less contact time with the skin, limiting their effectiveness compared to leave-on products.
Niacinamide has been studied as a topical skin treatment since the 1970s, initially for conditions like acne and rosacea. Widespread consumer interest accelerated in the 2010s as clinical evidence accumulated and the ingredient became a staple in dermatologist-recommended routines worldwide.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
