This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Jawarish Jalinus is a traditional Unani (Greco-Arabic) compound herbal preparation whose origins trace back to the teachings of Galen, the 2nd-century Greek physician whose work formed the intellectual backbone of the Unani system. The formulation blends aromatic spices, digestive herbs, and a honey base into a jam-like electuary designed to warm and invigorate the stomach. It has been prescribed by Unani hakims for centuries to treat a wide spectrum of digestive complaints, from sluggish digestion and flatulence to loss of appetite and nausea.
The formula works through the combined carminative, stomachic, and pro-kinetic properties of its key ingredients. Spices like ginger, black pepper, and long pepper stimulate digestive enzyme secretion and gut motility, helping move food through the system more efficiently and reducing gas buildup. Mastic resin has been shown to soothe the stomach lining, while cardamom and cinnamon contribute antispasmodic effects that ease cramping and discomfort.
Traditionally prepared and dispensed as an electuary — a thick paste or jam made by blending powdered herbs with honey. Modern Unani pharmacies in South Asia (particularly India and Pakistan) produce it as a standardized oral paste or sometimes as a soft tablet. It is typically taken by mouth directly or dissolved in warm water.
Named after Galen of Pergamon (129–216 CE), whose humoral theories of digestion shaped both Greek and later Islamic medicine, Jawarish Jalinus has been documented in major classical Unani texts including the Canon of Medicine by Ibn Sina (Avicenna) and later compendiums by Hakim Ibn Nafees and others. It remains part of the official formulary of the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) in India, demonstrating its continued clinical relevance in the Unani system.
