This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Caraway seed comes from Carum carvi, a biennial herb in the Apiaceae (carrot) family that grows wild across Europe, North Africa, and Western Asia. The crescent-shaped seeds have a warm, slightly anise-like flavor that has made them a culinary staple from Scandinavian rye bread to Middle Eastern spice blends for millennia. Beyond the kitchen, caraway has a long place in herbal medicine across Persian, German, and North African traditions as a go-to remedy for digestive upset.
Caraway's main active compounds — carvone and limonene — relax smooth muscle in the gut wall, helping to ease spasms and release trapped gas. This antispasmodic action reduces bloating and cramping by letting the digestive tract move more freely and rhythmically. Caraway also appears to support digestive enzyme activity and has mild antimicrobial properties that may help balance gut bacteria contributing to gas and fermentation.
Whole or lightly crushed seeds brewed as a tea are the traditional form and work well for quick digestive relief. Standardized capsules or tablets (often combined with peppermint oil or other carminatives) are convenient for daily use and have been used in clinical trials. Essential oil is potent and generally not taken internally without professional guidance. Combination formulas pairing caraway with peppermint are the most clinically studied delivery format.
Caraway seeds have been found at archaeological sites dating back to 8,000 years ago, making them among the oldest cultivated spices in Europe. They appear in ancient Egyptian, Roman, and medieval European herbal texts as a treatment for wind, colic, and weak digestion. In traditional Persian and Ayurvedic medicine, caraway was used to stimulate appetite and ease stomach spasms. It remains an official herbal medicine in Germany's Commission E monograph system, approved for dyspepsia and IBS-related symptoms.
