This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

GHK-Cu is a small tripeptide — three amino acids (glycine, histidine, lysine) naturally bound to copper — that your body produces on its own, with levels declining significantly after age 30. It was first isolated from human plasma in the 1970s by biochemist Loren Pickart, who noticed it had a striking ability to stimulate tissue repair. Applied to skin, it acts like a biological reset signal, prompting cells to behave more like younger, healthier versions of themselves.
GHK-Cu works by activating genes involved in skin remodeling and repair — it encourages collagen and elastin production, accelerates the removal of damaged proteins, and calls in the cellular machinery needed to rebuild healthy tissue. It also has meaningful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, helping calm irritated skin while simultaneously rebuilding its structure. Copper itself is an essential cofactor for enzymes that cross-link collagen and elastin, which is why this copper-bound peptide is so effective compared to peptides or copper alone.
GHK-Cu is most commonly sold as a topical serum at concentrations of 0.5% to 3%. It also appears in creams, eye creams, and specialized wound dressings. Stability matters — GHK-Cu degrades in products with very high or very low pH and with certain strong actives, so formulation quality varies significantly across brands. Serums with pH 5–7 and opaque packaging best preserve potency.
GHK-Cu was discovered in 1973 by Dr. Loren Pickart while studying the effects of plasma proteins on liver tissue regeneration. Subsequent decades of research revealed its remarkable range of activity in wound healing, nerve repair, and gene regulation. It entered cosmetic skincare in the 1990s and has since accumulated a solid base of human clinical evidence supporting its use for skin aging and wound care — unusual for a cosmetic peptide ingredient.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
