This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Du Huo Ji Sheng Tang is one of the most celebrated formulas in Traditional Chinese Medicine, first recorded by the Tang dynasty physician Sun Simiao in his 7th-century text 'Bei Ji Qian Jin Yao Fang.' It combines 15 herbs across three functional groups: herbs that dispel wind and dampness from the joints, herbs that strengthen the liver and kidneys (seen as the root of bone and tendon health), and herbs that nourish blood and support circulation. It is specifically designed for what TCM calls 'Bi syndrome' — painful obstruction of the channels by cold and dampness, layered on top of a deficiency of qi, blood, liver, or kidney.
Modern research suggests the formula works through several overlapping pathways: its anti-inflammatory compounds help quiet the inflammatory signals (like prostaglandins and cytokines) that drive joint pain and swelling, while blood-moving herbs like Dang Gui and Chuan Xiong improve local circulation and reduce stiffness. Kidney-tonifying herbs such as Du Zhong and Niu Xi appear to support bone density and connective tissue, and Ren Shen helps the body manage fatigue and the overall stress of chronic pain. The combination of actions is designed to treat both the symptom and the underlying weakness that allows it to persist.
Traditional water decoction (boiling the raw herbs) is considered the gold standard and allows dose adjustment, but it requires preparation time. Patent pills and granules are far more convenient and are the most common forms used in clinical practice today. Capsules and tablets are available from standardized manufacturers and are the easiest option for new users. Quality varies widely between brands — look for products that list each ingredient's amount and have third-party testing for heavy metals, as some raw herb supplies carry contamination risk.
Attributed to Sun Simiao (581–682 CE), one of China's most revered physicians, Du Huo Ji Sheng Tang has been in continuous clinical use for roughly 1,400 years. It remains one of the most frequently prescribed formulas in contemporary TCM practice for musculoskeletal conditions and is included in China's national pharmacopeia. Its longevity across dynasties and its adoption into modern TCM hospitals speaks to its consistent clinical reputation.
