This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Da Bu Yin Wan is one of Traditional Chinese Medicine's most important formulas for nourishing yin and cooling deficiency heat — a pattern that shows up as afternoon fever, burning sensations in the palms and soles, night sweats, hot flashes, and a feeling of deep restlessness without obvious cause. It was first recorded by Zhu Dan-xi in the 14th–15th century and remains a foundational formula in Chinese herbal medicine today. The formula pairs kidney-nourishing herbs with heat-clearing ones, addressing both the root deficiency and the resulting overheating.
In TCM terms, when kidney yin is depleted, the cooling and moistening functions of the body weaken, allowing yang energy to rise unchecked as heat. Da Bu Yin Wan works by deeply replenishing kidney and liver yin through Rehmannia and tortoise plastron, while Phellodendron and Anemarrhena directly cool and drain this excess heat. Modern research suggests the formula influences sex hormone metabolism, reduces inflammatory signaling, and supports bone density — effects that align well with its traditional applications in hormone-related and age-related decline.
The traditional form is a large honey pill (wan) taken with salted water or warm water, which is still widely used in China. In Western markets, the formula is most commonly found as capsules or tablets containing concentrated powdered extract, making dosing easier and more consistent. Granules dissolved in hot water are another option that approximates a decocted herbal tea.
Zhu Dan-xi (1282–1358), one of the four great masters of the Jin-Yuan dynasty of Chinese medicine, developed this formula as part of his influential theory that 'yin is always insufficient and yang is always in excess.' He argued that modern lifestyles of his era depleted kidney yin, and this formula became his signature treatment for deficiency-heat patterns. It has been in continuous clinical use for over 600 years and remains a standard formula in Chinese medical education and practice worldwide.
