This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Brahmi Ghee is a classical Ayurvedic medicated fat made by infusing Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) — one of Ayurveda's most revered brain herbs — into pure cow ghee using a traditional preparation method called ghrita paka. The fat base acts as a carrier (anupana), allowing the fat-soluble active compounds in Brahmi to absorb more efficiently across the blood-brain barrier. This combination has been used for thousands of years in India to support memory, intellect, speech clarity, and emotional balance.
Brahmi's active compounds, particularly bacosides, support the repair of nerve cell membranes and boost the activity of key neurotransmitters involved in learning and memory. Ghee serves a dual purpose: it carries these compounds deep into neural tissue and contributes its own nourishing properties, including short-chain fatty acids that feed the gut lining and support a healthy gut-brain connection. Together, they help regulate stress hormones, calm an overactive nervous system, and promote deeper, more restorative sleep.
The most authentic and traditional form is the slow-cooked ghee preparation consumed orally, typically a teaspoon at a time. Nasya (nasal administration) is a specialized Ayurvedic practice where small amounts are applied to the nasal passages for direct brain access — this should only be done under practitioner guidance. Modern commercial versions include encapsulated powdered Brahmi Ghee for convenience, though purists consider the traditional form more bioavailable.
Brahmi Ghee appears in some of Ayurveda's oldest classical texts, including the Charaka Samhita and Ashtanga Hridayam, where it is described as a medhya rasayana — a rejuvenating tonic specifically for the intellect and mind. It was historically prescribed for children to support learning, for scholars to enhance memory, and for the elderly to slow cognitive decline. Its use spans over 3,000 years in the Indian subcontinent and remains central to traditional Ayurvedic neurological care today.
