This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Bhringaraj (Eclipta alba) is a small, creeping herb found throughout India, China, Brazil, and other tropical regions. It has been a cornerstone of Ayurvedic medicine for over 2,000 years, classified as a 'Rasayana' — a rejuvenating herb that supports overall vitality and longevity. The name itself translates loosely to 'ruler of the hair,' giving a clear picture of its most celebrated traditional use.
Bhringaraj works through several overlapping pathways. Its key compounds, particularly wedelolactone and coumestans, have demonstrated liver-protective effects by reducing inflammation and helping regenerate liver cells. For hair, topical and oral use appears to stimulate hair follicle cells, extend the active growth phase of hair, and improve circulation to the scalp. It also has mild adaptogenic properties, helping to ease stress and promote calmer sleep.
Bhringaraj oil is the most traditional and widely used form for hair — it is typically made by infusing the herb in a carrier oil like coconut or sesame oil and massaged into the scalp. Powder (churna) and capsules are used for internal benefits like liver support and stress relief. Liquid extracts offer convenient dosing. Tea from dried herb is a gentler option for daily maintenance.
Mentioned extensively in classical Ayurvedic texts including the Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita, Bhringaraj has been prescribed for hair loss, premature greying, liver disease, and nervous exhaustion for millennia. It holds an equally prominent place in Traditional Chinese Medicine (known as Han Lian Cao), where it is used to nourish the liver and kidneys and cool excess internal heat. Its widespread use across two ancient medical systems is a strong indicator of its real clinical value.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
